Invasive insects and diseases can cause harm to the trees in your community, but not every pest is a problem. Join Tricia Bethke, Forest Pest Outreach Coordinator, for a lively presentation on beetles, borers, planthoppers, and galls that may (or may not) affect the health of the trees. Learn what to (re)plant after a pest invasion and how to monitor and protect trees in your community.
Tricia Bethke is the Illinois Forest Pest Outreach Coordinator. Her position is funded through a cooperative grand with USDA APHIS and The Morton Arboretum. Tricia’s responsibilities include statewide training of key stakeholders on the USDA APHIS Hungry Pest program, forest pest identification, high-risk pathways, regulations and quarantines, and reporting protocols.
