DESCRIPTION:Invasive insects and diseases can cause harm to the trees in your community\, but not every pest is a problem. Join Tricia Bethke\, Forest Pest Outreach Coordinator\, for a lively presentation on beetles\, borers\, planthoppers\, and galls that may (or may not) affect the health of the trees. Learn what to (re)plant after a pest invasion and how to monitor and protect trees in your community. \nTricia Bethke is the Illinois Forest Pest Outreach Coordinator. Her position is funded through a cooperative grand with USDA APHIS and The Morton Arboretum. Tricia’s responsibilities include statewide training of key stakeholders on the USDA APHIS Hungry Pest program\, forest pest identification\, high-risk pathways\, regulations and quarantines\, and reporting protocols.
