On Saturday, February 10th, six volunteers from the KMLT Stewardship Committee and Lauderdale Lakes Lake Management District cleared the wetland near Lauderdale Lakes Country Club. The work to remove invasive plant species and encourage native plant growth was started last winter.
The four hour workday really opened the view to the lake from the wetlands area and eliminated lots of buckthorn and other invasives.
You are welcome to visit restoration site late in the summer to see how nature helps the plant diversity recover!
