
As an organization dedicated to the preservation of conservation values inherent in the lands and waters where we live, Kettle Moraine Land Trust recognizes that these lands and waters are the ancestral home to indigenous people that have dwelt here for millennia. Moreover, as we are engaged in ecological restoration of our protected lands, we acknowledge that we, in a respectful manner, seek to replicate many of the land management practices developed and applied by the indigenous peoples.
We acknowledge that our work today takes place on the traditional lands of the following groups who, along with others, were stewards of these lands from time to time across the past several thousand years:
