Saturday, July 16, 10:00-11:30 a.m.
Join us for the kid-centric segment of our Talk about Nature monthly series, late Saturday morning for a special “Art in the Prairie” session at Price Park. We’ll meet at the picnic shelter near the dog park and have some colored pencil drawing lessons from professional artist Kathleen Garness. Ms. Garness is a professional botanic and scientific illustrator who works with the Field Museum and The Nature Conservancy to produce educational materials for the growing community of natural areas restoration volunteers. She has taught for the Chicago Botanic Garden and the Morton Arboretum, and has received a grant from the American Society of Botanical Artists which allowed her to introduce botanical illustration to new and more diverse audiences.

This event is free, but we ask that you register in advance and we will be accepting donations to KMLT. A donation of $20 would help cover program costs. This even is appropriate for adults, teens and children ages 5-12 attending with their parents/guardians.
