DESCRIPTION:Finding a balance in producing an attractive and functional lawn while minimizing contamination of nearby lakes can be difficult. In this seminar we will discuss strategies such as species selection\, fertility application\, and pest management that will allow you to enjoy your lawn while preserving the beauty of the nearby lake. \nSpeaker: Dr. Paul Koch joined the University of Wisconsin – Madison faculty in the Department of Plant Pathology in January of 2014.  Paul’s research and outreach focus primarily on developing sustainable management strategies for turfgrass landscapes. Paul also oversees the University of Wisconsin’s Turfgrass Diagnostic Lab and is affiliated with the UW Molecular and Environmental Toxicology program. \nSponsored by the University of Wisconsin Extension-Walworth County and Kettle Moraine Land Trust. SUMMARY:Fourth Saturday Stewardship at Putra-Scharff Preserve
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our fourth Saturday Stewardship Day at Putra-Scharff Preserve. Depending on the weather\, we’ll be brush cutting\, conducting controlled burns\, and other natural area restoration activities conducive for the season. Bring water and dress for the weather. Ages 18 and up\, no experience needed. Children under 18 welcome with adult chaperone\, gain service hours and experience in the conservation field.
