SUMMARY:First Day Hike at Kettle Moraine State Forest
DESCRIPTION:Start the New Year off with a 4-mile hike on the Scuppernong Trail through the Kettle Moraine State Forest – Southern Unit. The wide cut trail is great for conservation as we walk and experience winter in the forest. Snowshoes are welcome if needed! Pets must be leashed at all times. A 2018 Wisconsin State Park Sticker is required and you can self-register there. \nThe hike will be cancelled only if weather is severe or roads are dangerous. The hotline 262-594-6200 will have up to date information \nThe hike starts at 11 a.m. Meet at the Scuppernong Hiking Trails – north side of County Highway ZZ about 0.5 miles east of Highway 67\, 4 miles north of Eagle. \nThis is one of many First Day Hikes sponsored by the Wisconsin State Park system. SUMMARY:Candlelight Ski and Hike in the Kettle Moraine State Forest
DESCRIPTION:Ski or hike the 1.6 mile Purple Loop of the Nordic Trail through the woods that will be illuminated by 450 candles! No hills – no spills! There will be a bonfire to roast marshmallows or cookout. Food will be available for purchase\, provided by the Kettle Moraine Natural History Association. \nAll vehicles will need a vehicle admission sticker.
