DESCRIPTION:In our southeast Wisconsin region\, we’re fortunate to live in a landscape mosaic of woodlands\, wetlands\, prairies\, lakes and streams. While preserving these natural areas is key to protecting the many plants and animals that live here\, just saving areas from development isn’t enough. As good stewards of the land\, we also must manage invasive species to give the competitive edge to native plants and animals\, and sometimes put back the indigenous species that are missing. This science is known as restoration ecology. The application of the science in the field is known as natural areas management. Join us for a conversation about what these restoration practices involve\, what such practices can accomplish\, and how you can help our efforts to keep our local natural areas healthy and productive.  \n  \nPlease register with rachel@kmlandtrust.org.
